Why aren't I receiving dose reminders? add

Check in order:

  • iPhone Settings → Pillar → Notifications — Allow Notifications must be on, with alerts enabled (not just badges).
  • Focus / Do Not Disturb mode silences all apps — add Pillar as an exception.
  • Open the medicine in Pillar and confirm a scheduled time is set. As Needed medicines have no automatic reminders.
  • If you just added the medicine, the first reminder fires at the next scheduled time — not immediately.
My carer isn't receiving missed dose alerts — what's wrong? add
  • Your carer must have Pillar installed with notifications enabled on their iPhone.
  • Go to Settings → Carer Push Alerts and confirm the household shows as connected.
  • Alerts fire after the missed-dose window (default 30 minutes after the scheduled time). The dose time must have actually passed.
  • If your carer's device has no internet, Apple retries delivery for up to 30 minutes.
How does my carer connect without an invite link? add

Ask the patient to go to Settings → Carer Push Alerts → Share Invite. Alternatively, your carer can enter the code manually: open Pillar → Settings → Carer Push Alerts → I'm a Carer → enter the 8-character code and the patient's name exactly as registered.

Can one carer monitor multiple patients? add

Yes. A carer can connect to multiple patients simultaneously. Each patient shares their own invite code. The carer receives alerts from all linked patients, each clearly labelled with the patient's name.

How do I set a minimum interval for paracetamol or ibuprofen? add

When adding or editing a medicine, go to Step 2 — Schedule. Use the Minimum time between doses stepper to set hours (e.g. 4 for paracetamol, 6 for ibuprofen). Pillar will show an amber warning if you try to log a dose within that window. You can still proceed — it's a warning, not a block.

Is my health data sent to Pillar's servers? add

No. Your medicines, dose history, and health data are stored only on your device. The only data that ever leaves:

  • Carer Push Alerts: your display name and device token are stored on Supabase solely to deliver missed-dose notifications. Leave the household any time to remove this.
  • AI auto-fill: only the medicine name or label photo is sent to Groq AI — no personal data.

How do I unlock Pillar Premium? add

Tap the lock icon next to any premium feature, or go to Settings → Upgrade to Premium. It's a one-time payment — no subscription, no recurring charges. To restore a previous purchase on a new device, tap Restore Purchase on the paywall while signed into the same Apple ID.

How do I delete all my data? add

Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All Data. Or simply delete the app — iOS removes all associated data. If you had carer alerts enabled, go to Settings → Carer Push Alerts → Leave Household first to remove your device token from the push server.

The AI didn't find my medicine — what do I do? add

Tap Skip AI and fill in the fields manually — all fields are fully editable. Some medicines (very new, regional, or generic brands) may not be in the AI's knowledge base. AI results are suggestions only — always verify with your pharmacist.
